Reginald Sixpence is the first victim, and his death acts as a kind of tutorial to the game. However, what you need to do isn’t clearly spelled out, so if you’re getting stuck early on, follow this guide!
Solving the Murder of Reginald in The Sexy Brutale
From your starting point, you’ll need to spy on the adjacent room, and wait for Reginald Sixpence to come in and rummage through the safe. His location is marked with the bloodied shield below:
As he looks through the safe, you’ll see a bullet fall out unnoticed. When Sixpence leaves, enter the room and collect it. The yellow item icon will show you that it can be picked up. It turns out to be a blank cartridge – interesting!
Now move to the room with the animal rug in it.
In here you’ll see a gun mounted on the wall. Simply go over to it, and select the blank bullet you picked up earlier to use it with the gun. Lafcadio will switch out the bullets.
When the gun is then fired by the attempted murderer, Sixpence will not die and will knock out the assailant. Your first murder is prevented!
